1. What countries do the Report and Wall-Chart cover ? The report and wall-chart cover most old and new EU countries and Norway and Switzerland. Please take a look at the table of content where all reported countries are mentioned. 2. How actual are the figures? Most retailer data are collected in the last 4 months and are sometimes very up to date but others choose not to publish for competition reasons and wait for the legal publishing obligation dates. In some cases estimates are made based on various reliable sources. In general, each year retailers choose to be more open on revenue data. 2003 and 2004 data of retailers are published when available in time. The country rankings are made when sufficient officially published data are available. We document a lot of retailer data since 1990. Furthermore we use: annual reports, data directly received from retailers, chambers of commerce, research publications, trade magazines, newspapers, statistical institutions, local research companies etc. For all data we try to find at least two reliable sources and match these. 4. I need a contactperson at a retailer, how do I get the right name? In the report you find phone, fax, Email, Internet URL and of course the office and postal address of the retailer 's headquarter. It is our experience that calling a retailer and simply asking who is responsible for purchasing or category management of specific products is the very best way to find out. Most retailers are quite open in that information. 5. What is the difference between the Report and the Wall-Chart? ( only Food and DIY have Wall Chart) The Wall Chart gives country overviews and some general statistic data, but the Report includes the profiles of each retailer with exactly the key data that we think you will need to know for your strategy. These are all quantitative data and we do not publish information that is just nice to know. There are no buyers names in it because they tend to change too frequently. On de page prices you see a clear overview . All prices are based on a single purchase and a discount is applicable when you subscribe for a standing order. Our prices are modest in comparison with any other study of any other publisher on this subject. Our credo, for our publications as well as consulting projects, is to give Value for Money. We simply prefer to sell more at a lower price than vice versa. For the Netherlands VAT is applicable. All companies that have ordered a copy of the Report or Wall Chart in the past or companies well known to us simply receive an invoice at first delivery. For new customers we prefer to send an invoice first and receive payment via bank tranfer. We can send that invoice per Email if required and also credit card payment is possible. Then we send you a fax form. 8. Which sectors do you cover? The European Food report is our best known edition. We also publish a report on the DIY & Gardening retailers in Europe as well as the Personal Care retailers in Europe and Consumer Electronics Retailers. Soon you can expect our new report on Fashion Retailers. For the food sector we also publish North America and soon the major Asian countries. We have no intentions now to publish other sectors, but we can do tailor made studies. |
